I am Linda-Meri. The founder of Bahari and all that it represents. I love life so much, with all its shades, that sometimes it's overwhelming. Natural cosmetics have been a part of my life for over 15 years. It is a lifestyle and a choice. Nature has immense power and is rich in many ways. Personally, I am also fascinated by its perfect imperfection.

The story of Bahari began ten years ago. Bahari means sea in Swahili, and my middle name is also Meri (Sea). Coincidence? I don't know, but I gladly accept it. Let's go back to Zanzibar in 2016. A fishing trip with a couple of locals and the hotel owner, embraced by the Indian Ocean. As the sun caressed my skin and the ocean rocked the wooden boat, we talked about names. When I mentioned that my middle name is Meri, the skipper said Bahari. It immediately touched my heart.

However, years passed since that moment. Bahari lived within me but sought its form to become a reality. While expecting my second child, everything surfaced after I had attended a Mother Blessing ceremony. A Mother Blessing often includes the preparation of a mother salt. This means that each participant brings an ingredient to add to the salt. Salt is antibacterial, and its preserving quality is perfect. The salt is often distributed to everyone to take home and can be used, for example, for baths. This experience was significant. The scent of the salt was so intoxicating that I carried a small salt pouch with me until childbirth.

These experiences combined with the fact that Australia, Africa, and France have at times been my home, and travel is my passion. The longing for places and lived experiences does not fade. The sea, palm trees, sandy beaches, and the sun are a combination I long for daily. It feels as if a part of me has remained in all these places, or vice versa, something from each place remained alive within me.

Bahari is, above all, a lifestyle that invites you to pause. To pause for yourself, for beauty, and for life. It is a feeling of freedom, a relaxed lifestyle, bare toes, and sun-kissed skin. Bahari combines all experiences, the sea, and my deepest desire to create experiences in this world.
